Poker Stars, Max Entry Limits for freerolls

If anyone here has played free rolls at pokerstars, do you think they should start reducing the max amount of players in their tournaments? What number of players allowed maximmum do you think it should be ? Do you think they should offer say 2-3 tournaments per hour with a max of 2500 entries Should all players at the Final Table receive some Compensation For There Time & Effort?? What are your thoughts???

This is a tricky one ... personally I am not too fan of big freeroll with 5000 entrants and such... unless the prize pool really worth it. If you think about it ... playing for hours ... tons of hours hehe to get through a field of 5000-10000 players to win 50$ Its relatively too much ''time consuming'' but when you have spare time it can be fun. Smaller freerolls can be nice ... I remember PokerRoom used to have some ''daily'' freeroll, 4-6 of them, something like 100$ prize pool but its was fun and running kinda quickly. But I presume it depend on everyone point of view. Some likes when there is tons of players, some prefer quicker tournaments. There is no ''magic'' solution ... if just starting multiple different freerolls. :)

Agreed, the time you invest vs the payout is not worth it to me either.

I think you should be happy they even have free rolls, seems a lot of sites are cutting back on them. I don't know what you mean by "comensated" for time and effort on the final table as making the final table means you are going to be compensated already.

They offer all kinds of tournaments to players that actually deposit!

My thoughts are I hope I'm never that broke that I have to sit down with 5-6k other players for 6 hrs for $50 :)

id depends on how big the prizepool is.A tornament with a 1000 dollar prizepool could well have 4000-5000 players. But a regular 100-200 freroll it would be better with a cap on 800 players.

guess its ok if you want to play and make 10 cents

personnellyi would rather sit in a 1K freeroll rather than a 100-22 hundred game, find you will play just as long but with the former you only end up making like 50cents

The "TRUE" free roll is a dying breed!!! Over the last year I watch them start to dry up all over the place!!! Nowadays what is being offered as Free rolls can make it hard to justify the time & effort (except the IPoker VIP $5 & 10,000), unless you count it towards experience.

Now experience is priceless!!! Now I won't play a winner take all Free roll (ie: FTP's DVD final table...wtf would anyone spend hrs playin for that...but, 2000+ players in nearly everyone!!) but I do play in a lot of them to help rebuild BR's on many sites (I think this is 1 reason that PP hit me with that service charge, because after my initial deposit I managed to get it all back + a few hundred & was able through both pts & the Canadian FR's rebuild & withdraw a couple of more times....Money mouth)...

Now I don't play anymore @PS, but if they have 5000 chasin' less than $1000, I'm not sure I'd play, unless I was multi-site FRollin', then I could have it up with a couple of others to make worth while to try...

all   freerolls are like the rebuys --if you can make it to the first break and still have chips you are playin only half the field in my opinion  then its a new game
