Isildur1's first opponent in SuperStar Showdown will be Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton

Modeled after the Durrrr challenge, but at a more modest playing level of 4 tables of $50/$100 and designed to last only 2,500 hands, the Superstar Showdown will occur on December 19th at 6 pm ET on Poker Stars.

According to "Superstar Showdown" rules, each player has had to place 1,500 Big Blinds ($150,000) into escrow with Pokerstars. If one of the players decides not to show up, then they will end up forfeiting 300 Big Blinds, which will be split between their planned opponent and Pokerstars. The maximum amount that either player could lose over the course of the match would be $150,000.

The winner of the "Superstar Showdown" will be the player who either shows a profit at the end of the 2,500 hand session or takes the other player's complete match bankroll.

For those that want to watch the matches will be located in the PokerStars cash game lobby, under Hold’em > No Limit/Pot Limit, listed as ‘Showdown’ tables.

You could watch the match last Friday on Stars....  I copy pasted a news article I wrote elsewhere about the match....

The first of the Superstar Showdowns on PokerStars between Isildur1 and various challengers occurred Sunday December 19th with Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton defeating Isildur1. After 2,500 hands, Haxton found himself ahead by $41,700.

Isildur1 had the slight lead for much of the match, but after bluffing all in, he found himself down $10k with 471 hands remaining. It was at this point Isildur1 went into hyper-aggression mode, often 5-betting instead of 3-betting Haxton’s opening min-raises, and full pot continuation betting instead of his previous two-thirds amount.

The two players played four tables of $50/$100 NLHE. The winner of the "Superstar Showdown" is determined by the player who either shows a profit at the end of the 2,500 hand session or takes the other player's complete match bankroll.

According to "Superstar Showdown" rules, each player has had to place 1,500 Big Blinds ($150,000) into escrow with Pokerstars.
