Warmer weather would be nice, but if it's just a temporary move (hoping for US legislation) then moving to Canada might make sense as the culture, language and infrastructure is quite similar. Also it's closer to home so you can visit friends and family still easily.

I think a different culture, language, etc... would be a bonus. get out and experience a part of the world you may never have never visited.
